    Winston Churchill is one who went in a group to dine with the cat on a number of occasions.
    I'll also add that there is a common superstition involved here and it has nothing to do with the blackness of the cat.

    Yay Frankie! Have a full set of silver Apostle spoons for you and twelve friends to dine out on that one.
    Originally, a member of staff would sit with a group of 13 to prevent such an unlucky gathering, but then someone had the bright idea of setting down a place for the cat instead.
    Thus, a superstition became good business as some customers have deliberately built up dining groups of 13 just to see this eccentric custom.
