    Who invented puppets?

    		I found a number of opinions in different sources, but the site with the most research to back up their claim was

    which asserts that puppets showed up more or less simultaneously in Egypt, the Near East, and India between 3000-2000 BC.

    		According to my research the word puppet is Latin for doll, or pupa. Also, it is said that almost all ancient civilizations have had their own form of puppets and puppet theaters. These theaters had begun as part of magic rituals and for entertainment in times when many people were not literate.
