No - the drey is where they live. There is no name for a group of squirrels as they are individual creatures and do not live as groups

Tasha is referring to one of those collective nouns that no one actually uses but that are sometimes rather picturesque. For squirrels, "dray" and "scurry" are given on various online lists:

The New Zealand Oxford Dictionary (cos that's the one I have)

dray n. a strong low flat cart for heavy loads

However, as Americans also spell gray not grey:

    drey n. a squirrel's nest

Maybe in America a dray is a group of squirrels but in New Zealand, and I'm willing to bet in the UK too, it refers to their habitat.

Can anyone explain how the periodic table works? How is it possible that the vertical groups correspond almost exactly to the increasing atomic mass of the elements? For instance, the alkali metals (group 1), alkaline earth metals (group 2) and noble gases (group 8) all have very different properties, yet somehow, if they were all arranged in order by their atomic masses, you would find that they could be arranged in a clear pattern of Group 1, Group 2, Group 8, Group 1, Group 2, Group 8, and so on. Is it just coincidence, or is there a scientific explanation for this?
