The Pax Romana supposedly ended when this emperor died. Who was he?

Question #80893. Asked by LuisR.. (May 23 07 8:39 PM)

Although there is general agreement that the Pax Romana began with Augustus Caesar (see question #80892), there seems to be a range of opinions on when it ended. Opinions include the end of the reigns of Marcus Aurelius (180 AD), Commodus (192 AD), or Severus (211 AD). Whichever emperor you pick, the end of the Pax Romana was characterized by the decline of absolute Roman military power, and the gradual eroding of the Empire's borders by barbarian invaders.
