    What does "zanmato" mean in English?

    		I think what you are referring to is a zanbatô which is a long sword of Japanese origin likely used in combat and as a spear. The sword was so large that it may have been used solely as a temple offering. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zanmato
