In the tenth century a certain English abbot found refuge from his political enemies in a Flemish abbey. This author used the document as a source for a famous Arthurian romance. Who was that poet and what is the title of the story?

This could well be about 'Abbot Dunstan' and his travels to Ghent. After he returned to Glastonbury, his manuscript left behind in St. Peter's Abbey, arose into the hands of Chrétien de Troyes, where 'Perceval ou le conte del Graal' became basis for 'King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table'.

Right you are and the St. Peter's Abbey is now a local
cultural centre where prestigious exhibitions have been held the last few decades. The Count was Philip of Alsace.
