    Who invented the first version of the classical fairytale Cinderella?

    "Cinderella" is a very ancient tale tale with many variants. A version called "Ye Xian" dates back to the seventh century AD.
    The 'modern' version was first written down by Frenchman Charles Perrault in 1697.

    In the original story Cinderella by Charles Perrault her slipper was made from fur not glass.
