    The bat is known as "Rafinesque's Big-eared Bat, Plecotus rafinesquii" and is named after Constantine Rafinesque (1783 - 1840).

    Not Rafinesque, but Daubenton,s Bat.

    Named for the first Director of the Natural History Museum in Paris,Louis-Jean-Marie Daubenton.
