I'm not sure it's possible to get a difinitive answer.
Referencing a blog (that was just posted) that has no source for it's info is hardly a link.

I would *guess* that most people will scribble to make sure the pen works rather then write anything in particular.

Their own name. I read somewhere that every 4 in 5 people (who have literacy skills) will do this when asked to try.
