Which poet went mad and was heard saying, "Pallakasch, pallakasch, pallakasch"?

    Question #82548. Asked by tragic_flawed. (Jun 26 07 4:41 PM)

    Sofie

Friedrich Hölderlin (March 20, 1770 – June 6, 1843) was a major German lyric poet. His work bridges the Classical and Romantic schools.
He died after a long period of (possibly faked) insanity, during which he restricted his conversation to the nonsense-phrase "Pallaksch, Pallaksch".
