    "Each" is a singular indefinite personal pronoun.

    Debatable. You'll have the feminists (and me) down on you for HIS where the actual sex could be either. They and their used to be regarded as incorrect, but are now accepted as indefinite sex 3rd person singular pronouns as well as being 3rd person plural. If you are writing to a very old-fashioned pedant, then you should put 'his or her' (or 'her or his' to annoy the pedant concerned). For most usage, 'their' is evolved modern English in this place.
