    The "Book of One Thousand and One Nights" (Not "One Thousand and One Tales") includes stories from a variety of sources compiled over the course of centuries. There are quite a few different editions and no single source:

    Harun al-Rashid was a person, not a palace. Some of the fabulous tales in the "Thousand and One Nights" might have been inspired by his court, but this is by no means certain:
