I was wondering if someone knew the name and any information on a bright star I keep seeing in the Southern part of the sky? I have noticed as the Summer is progressing, the times have changed when I can see this star in the sky. I'm not sure if its a part of a constellation or not. I've tried looking it up online, but I don't know its name. If anybody knows anything about this star, please let me know!

I live in the Midwest, U.S. What is the bright star(?) in the southern sky at about 40 degrees above the horizon? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: That is Jupiter. I googled "midwest southern sky bright star" and that popped up. I don't know how accurate it is, but I just noticed the original asker wrote back: Asker's Rating: I do see two moons to it's left (East) Jul 19 07, 10:44 PM
