I can't find any sources on valuations but I remember when I was younger watching one programme where a lady had brought in an early edition of either Winnie the Pooh or Peter Rabbit (can't remember which) and it turned out to be one of the very first, signed and illustrated by hand. I think they had it authenticated and a museum bought it for hundreds of thousands of pounds.

I know - sorry - I used to love watching the programme, but even the BBC website for it has been closed down. All I can find reference to is the American version of the show.

On Friday, the day this question was posted, I e-mailed "Antiques Roadshow" in the UK after having been unable to find any information about this issue online. I received a reply today:
"The highest valuation ever given on our version of the Roadshow was at Arundel Castle last year. Our expert valued a Mayoral collection of silver pieces at 300,000 pounds."
Kind regards,
