Do dogs eat the cats after they chase them?

    Question #83717. Asked by ifrah_farooq. (Jul 24 07 12:47 AM)

"Dogs can and do sometimes injure and kill cats. Dogs who kill cats are almost inevitably highly predatory so often they can be pickedout. A pair or group of predatory dogs is at greatest risk. It’s also important to know thatmost dogs who chase cats are not in this category. They chase but do no physical damage if they catch or corner the cat."

    Greyhounds.
They normally get on well with other dogs in the household, but cat owners should excercise extreme caution.

I know a couple of people with dogs who have a tally of dead cats they caught. One was a borzoi and unfortunately if a dog is trained and developed to hunt and kill it is simply doing what is in its natural instinct. Non hunting dogs will be less likely to attack the cat when caught and many dogs have no hostility to cats at all.

Given that humans have selectively bred horses, cats and dogs over thousands of years, why is it that dogs show much more diversity in shape and size than the other two? In other words, the smallest and largest horse or cat are still "horse or cat shaped" but dogs seem to differ remarkably more in size and shape.
