My husband the Maven, having just finished reading the new Harry Potter book, irreverently remarked that the finale strongly reminded him of a late 1950's film in which a large number of actors well-known for "western" roles appeared in cameos in a shootout. What was that film, and who was its comedian star?

I want to say "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" but I don't think it starred any comedians. Maybe I'm wrong, it was 25 years before I was born.

Not quite right, cheeser (and I never saw "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" either.)
No, this film, with the name of a famous outlaw in the title, starred a long-beloved U.S. comedian playing anything BUT a gunfighter.

O.K., Jane and zbeck, you both get silver clapperboards. Yes, it is "Alias Jesse James."
