The theme song of the miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon" ends with a recording of two of the astronauts describing the view; "Look at that!" "That's gotta be one of the most thrilling moments in my life..." Which pair of astronauts are speaking, and where were they when they said those words originally?

Question #84131. Asked by Arpeggionist. (Aug 02 07 2:57 PM)

Arpeggionist, the documentary "From the Earth to the Moon," was admirable, but it involved much recreation. I'm not finding any transcripts including the exact lines you have posted. However, the transcripts from Apollo 16 do include very similar excited comment, and I suspect that all of the flights did so.

Information about Michael Kamen's theme can be found on several sites, but without comment about the astronaut recording.

Thanks. I'll be leafing through the journals anyway (I've just finished looking through 15's flight journals - Dave Scott was a very articulate man).

What is the name of the old science fiction movie in which astronauts land on the moon and discover an old ship crashed there, leading them to realize that an old man who had been saying he had been to the moon, wasn't crazy?

Can everybody on earth see the moon at night or are there nights in which the moon has already gone "under" before nightfall? In other words, is it possible to have a moonless night, not referring to a new moon situation? [Originally #69542 Posted on Aug 10 06 by dutch_frank_65 - Deleted in error.]

Why have astronauts stopped going to moon?
