    How many people live in Xiamen Island, China?

    Xiamen Island, is part of Xiamen city and not the same thing.

    At the end of 2005, there were 688,400 people in Siming and Huli Districts which was 44.9% population of Xiamen island.
    (Works out to about 309,091)
