What is the translation of this young man's short monolouge?
    http://www.aolvideoblog.com/2007/08/13/surfer-dude-gets-eloquent/

    Question #84506. Asked by star_gazer. (Aug 14 07 6:40 AM)

    lanfranco

The only two words that actually require translation in that rather cute video are "barrel" and "pitted." Otherwise, the sense is pretty clear.

"Barrel" refers to a cylindrical or hollow wave. It doesn't appear in the glossary below, but other sites state that it is synonomous with "Tube." "Pitting" seems to involve moving into the middle portion of a wave -- see also "Drop," meaning "dropping from the crest of a wave to its pit."

    I really love translations:

It's time to buy you a surf board lanfranco!

Yet, still I requested a complete translation of the young man's monolouge, the sense may be clear but in clear English, what is he saying from beginning to end?

I'm a little hazy on the transcript, but that first, to the best of my hearing ability:

"...it's just like, dude, you get the best barrels ever, dude, just like, you pull in, and you just get spit right out of 'em, you just drop in and just smack the lip--Whoapack!--drop down--Sampaaah!--and after that, you just drop in, ride the barrel, get pitted, so pitted, like that [gesture]."

    My translation:

"Wow! The very best, exquisite hollow-faced waves come breaking in! You dextrously catch a wave just as it crests and let it powerfully carry you along: simply position yourself on the wave by skillfully manuevering the surfboard so as to strike the top of the wave with a resounding and satisfying report. Then enjoy the unsurpassed ride of your life in the very heart of that magnificent wave!"

That young man may well be quite articulate. Words and expressions should suit contexts.

    This is a good dictionary.
