In 'Adventures in Odyssey' what was Whit's End before it was the Fillmore Recreation Center?

Question #84903. Asked by Prognosticator. (Aug 24 07 9:12 AM)

It was a church! It also had tunnels for helping escaped slaves during the Civil War. The church was accidently burned by slave hunters during that time period, and the only thing left behind in good condition was the church steeple. Later the community of Oddessey built the Fillmore recreation center around the steeple.

You can discover an adventure in the church in Adventures in Oddessy episodes The Underground Railroad, parts 1, 2, and 3. Also the Treasure of Le Monde is an adventure where Whit and the gang find the old part of the church in the attic, and some of the old church's history.
