What is the Sanskrit term for desire and how does it relate to the Indian god of dreams?

    Question #84964. Asked by tragic_flawed. (Aug 26 07 10:47 PM)

    Hi!

As a Hindu guy, am answering this from the top of my head, so excuse me if you actually have any correct reference links that support your question.

The sanskrit term for desire is "Ichcha" while for dreams it is "Swapna" so the goddess of dreams should be "swapneshwari". Howver, I am unable to link them together.

Well, the Hindu god of love & desire is 'Kama', so there could possibly be a link between kama and ichcha, so you probably meant the god of love in your question?
