I'll spell out the twelve knights:
Row 2: 1 knight in column 3; Row 3: 4 knights in columns 3,4,6,7; Row 4: 1 knight in column 6; Row 5: 1 knight in column 3; Row 6: 4 knights in columns 2,3,5,6; Row 7: 1 knight in column 6
