Do blind people cry when they cut onions?

Question #85901. Asked by karephil. (Sep 15 07 6:10 PM)

The loss of sight, in general, has nothing at all to with a reaction to certain chemicals that stimulate the lachrymal glands.

There are certain, traumatic forms of blindness that involve the destruction of the lachrymal glands, and their victims cannot produce tears. Some sighted people also can't produce tears.
