    		Although some concepts of organic farming predated his work, today Sir Albert Howard (1873-1947) is regarded by most as the founder and pioneer of the organic movement.

    		Organic farming, of course, precedes farming with artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Really, the first organic farmer was the first one to know that you could plant seeds and get crops from them, and that they grew better where the manure was.
