    Do cigarettes go stale?

    Question #86906. Asked by star_gazer. (Oct 05 07 9:22 PM)

    Absolutely.

Most smokers who "stock-up" on Smokes place the unopened packs in the refrigerator in an attempt to preserve freshness. This is the WORST thing one can do to a cigarette.

Placing them in a refrigerator causes a molecular change in the naturally occurring oils present in them. The oils are what make the cigarettes taste as they do. The other factor is the condensing moisture the occurs upon removal from the ice box.

    The same goes for Coffee.

The following links are for coffee. I could not find any anti-freezer articles concerning cigarettes.

    To add to Monkey's post:

...extends the freshness of your cigarettes, by locking out light and air that makes cigarettes go stale and flavorless.

Lots of people FREEZE their cigarettes.
