    		It is important to note that the country is called Muscat and Oman, which is not the same as today's Oman,

    		I think also Bahrain, Maldives and Trucial Oman (today's United Arab Emirates) have used the plain red flag.

    		It is probably more correct to say that the member states of the Trucial Oman federateon (today the member states of UAE) in a period used the plain red flag.
