    		He is credited with the birth of the main evolution theory. In fact, his theory was not the first. There was also a theory posed by one Jean Lamarque some time before Darwin. Even Erasmus Darwin, the famous scientist's grandfather, wrote some poetry in which he alluded to the ideas of evolution.
