Is it true that in Saudi Arabia women are not allowed to drive and if yes, then what is the special reason behind that?

They're not allowed to drive. The reason would be contained in the inherent discrimination of the religion and country in general (i.e. There's not a GOOD reason...) Saudi Arabian women can't drive because it is feared that this freedom would lead to immoral behavior. Ultimately, it is a means of controlling them. Monkey, it's not possible for Saudi women to "ascribe to a different religious doctrine." All Saudis must be Muslim. In addition, non-Muslim women who are living in Saudi Arabia for some reason are also not permitted to drive. It doesn't matter what their religions are, women are simply prohibited from getting behind the wheel. In other Islamic countries, women can and do drive.
