    The only two female service personnel to have died in their respective services during World War II did so when a U-boat sunk the SS Caribou. Where was the Caribou enroute to at the time?

    		SS Caribou, passenger steamship enroute from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland was torpedoed by U-69, KptLt Jost Metzler, Knights Cross, CO, in the Cabot Strait.

    		Where do you get the figure of 'the only two' from? A quick flick around Wikipedia found that 16 US women were killed in action and 13 women in Britain's Special Operations Executive died on duty in France. That's just for starters - I expect there are more if I looked further.
