Who expressed the quote '"history repeats itself" before Thucidydes?

    Question #87954. Asked by tragic_flawed. (Oct 31 07 12:23 AM)

While I don't think the quote is directly expressed sooner, one of King Solomon's main points of the book of Ecclesiastes is that "there's nothing new under the sun," which he expresses in similar terms. (Of course, most biblical critics will say that the attribution of the book to Solomon is apocryphal.)
