    How do you organize a carnival in a town like Venice if you have hardly any normal streets to send a parade through?

    You break them up into smaller parades that perform in smaller segments of the city.

    The Carnival of Venice is somewhat diferent from most others. It's indeed smaller segments of the city that are used. E.g. the squares or "campi". Also see :
