    		The name "Brat Pack" came from a 1985 cover story in New York magazine by David Blum (June 10, 1985, pp. 40-47). The term is a play on the Rat Pack.

    The article also mentioned Matthew Broderick, John Cusack, Robert Downey Jr. and even Tom Cruise, though the eight listed above are the ones most widely considered the "Brat Pack."
