    When I lived in New York I was shocked to find that in the huge post office on 8th Avenue, that looks more like the British Museum than a regular post office, Britain's very own Royal Crest, along with other seals, was on the ceiling. What's the historical reasons for this? When was it built, what are the other crests and why does The Queen's Coat of Arms smile down over unsuspecting New Yorkers?

    		The building was built in 1912.
