    What was the capital of South Yemen?

    		Aden was the capital.

    Following independence, South Yemen was divided into six governorates, each given a Roman numeral:

    I Adan - Aden (Capital)
    II Lahij - Hawatah (Capital)
    III Abyan - Zinjibar (Capital)
    IV Shabwah - Ataq (Capital)
    V Hadhramawt - Al Mukalla (Capital)
    VI al-Mahra - Al Ghaydah (Capital)
