    How was Seneca finally killed after the attempt to have him bleed to death failed?

    		According to Tacitus, he jumped into a hot pool (the thought being that he'd bleed faster there) and suffocated from the steam rising from the pool.

    		But the poison (hemlock) didn't kill him; the suffocation did. See this updated 1851 source, page 800:
