    For someone living in London, on what dates are the earliest sunset and latest sunrise?

    		This is the Winter Solstice, or shortest day of the year, which in the nothern hemisphere occurs on 21st or 22nd of December

    		No it isn't. I'm sorry, but if there was a forfeit answer that would be it.
    The day of least hours of daylight, the winter solstice doesn't correspond to either answer.

    		The earliest sunset occurs on about the 17th December and the latest sunrise occurs on about 2nd January:
