What is the most populous of all hummingbird species?

    Question #90688. Asked by star_gazer. (Jan 03 08 9:22 PM)

    BRY2K

If by populous you mean most "common" I would submit the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Archilochus colubris.

They are the most common hummingbird in the world. They have the widest distribution of any hummingbird species, ranging from southern and central Canada in summer to as far south as northern Panama in winter.
