    Annealing, in glassblowing and lampworking, is the process of heating, and then slowly cooling glass to relieve internal stresses. The process, carried out in a temperature-controlled kiln known as a Lehr makes the glass much more durable.

    Can anyone explain how the periodic table works? How is it possible that the vertical groups correspond almost exactly to the increasing atomic mass of the elements?
