Not as easy as the burgers... What is a full Engligh breakfast? Does it include the black pudding you get here, toast or fried bread (or in some cases both!)? How many sausages? How many tomatoes? Sliced or fried? Mushrooms? How many rashers? Beans? Some cafes leave you wondering where the meal went; the one nearest me leaves you wondering how to get out of your chair....
This is the cafe breakfast. The full domestic breakfast is very variable, but traditionally has bacon and eggs (possibly with fried bread, sausage and/or black pudding but these are optional), and this is followed by buttered toast and marmalade with tea or coffee to drink.

This is from a forum board, so I can't vouch for the validity, nor do I know exactly what a full English breakfast must consist of. Something called bubble and squeak turns me green around the gills. In any event, I count 563 calories and about 25 grams of fat.
Hi there,
Does anyone know what the fat content (in terms of grams) is in a fried full English breakfast containing a 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 serving of bubble and squeak, 1 tomato, a serving of mushrooms and 2 rashes of bacon? Cheers and thanks for your help!
hey, ... fat content??!! im a bloody expert cos im a calorie and fat gram freak!
1 sausage - 119 calories for a cumberland and 101 for an ordinary (you can get lower) fat grams- 4g for ordinary, 8.3g for cumberland!
1 egg - 90 calories, 6g of fat
1 serving of bubble and squeek (ie toad in the hole!) approximately 300 calories, 10g fat
1 tomato(large) - 5 calories, 0.1g fat
Mushrooms - 59 calories, 1g fat
2 rashes of bacon - 59 cals per slice, 4g fat
of course this does only apply to however you cook them, obviously the most healthy would be the tomato but if you fry it, it can add an extra 5g fat and 25 calories!

Err, just noticed: "1 serving of bubble and squeek (ie toad in the hole!) approximatly 300 calories, 10g fat". Toad in the hole is sausage(s) in a batter thingy resembling Yorkshire Pud. Bubble and Squeak is a fried mix of cabbage and potato - other leftover veg may be added - and it's delicious.
