    Ardea Herodias, subspecies is either Ardea herodias herodias Linnaeus, or Ardea herodias fannini Chapman.

    Barrhead, Alberta is home to "The World's Largest Blue Heron!"

    This stately bird is made from rebar, mesh, wire and concrete and rises 12 feet high with its four foot pedestal. It was built by Trygve (Tig) Seland, who has also designed a variety of other big monuments, including Hanna's Geese.

    It is located on the corner of 50th and 49th Streets.
