What is the cost of leaving those small standby lights on in a house? I realised I have 10 lights on, computer, TV and radios when I go to sleep at night. I now turn seven off at the power point when going to bed. Can anyone say how much a day it would cost to run just one of these lights?

Various sources give figures of 5, 10 or 15 Watts per appliance such as PC or tv. Let's consider a small safety light, with, say, a 10 Watt globe. That globe, operating continuously for 100 hours (just over 4 days) will use 1 Kilowatt-hour of electricity.
In Queensland, that KWh costs about 15 cents - so that one light will cost you around $12 per year.
If you are familiar with search engines, such as Google, you'll find many articles on the subject. I didn't quote any specific one (did sums in my head), but this one gives some idea, and I hope I've given you a starting point for further investigation.
