Which long lasting professor will be scheduled to lecture on two days only this year, February 29th and June 13th, and what is his rather specialised work?

    Question #92031. Asked by Baloo55th. (Feb 06 08 4:37 PM)

    Arpeggionist

Could the topic have anything to do with superstitions? June 13th will be a Friday, as will the 29th of February.

That is possibly a coincidence this year - I haven't checked too far into his past dates. His lecture schedules do vary from year to year, and there is a way of working them out.... I don't think he is superstitious. He has been awarded an award highly regarded in some quarters, but possibly dreaded in others. Oh, you are partly on the right track....

Last year (2007), his lectures were scheduled to take place in April and July, but unfortunately he was not able to attend. Of his three lectures scheduled in 2004, one fell on a Sunday and so no-one else attended.

Auxiliary to Question 17598 to establish my point. George Washington is quoted as being born on 11 February 1732. I presume this to mean the date now known as this and called in England at the time 11 February 1731 the year having started on the previous 25 March. Was the day 18 days later, now known as 29 February 1732 then called 29 February 1731 or 1 March 1731 putting the days between the two styles out of phase for 12 months?
