Yes, Kodaly. And he did conducting for a while. His solo cello sonata is absolutely extraordinary. There's an old recording by Starker in the 50s. which is deffinitive (he made 2 more, but the first was the best).

It is even more exciting to watch a cellist playing the Kodaly sonata, as I have done several times in my short years. I never could bring myself to get a recording, as I fear it won't match my memory of the performance.
