    A very fine violinist borne in Rome in 1906, died in London in 1991. English citizen, he played many times for the troops during World War II. Son of a violinist, he began playing at a very young age. Made many tours all over the world. Left excellent recordings, including one considered one of the best of Mendelssohn's concerto ever made.
