A hard one. There was a Czech virtuoso violinist (1913-1966), one of the best of the Czech violin school, who made between 1956-1958 a recording of the complete Paganini's 24 caprices. It was one of the best of that work, but very few know it, and the man was forgotten except to violin or Paganini experts. Do you know who he was?

    Ivan Kawaciuk?

A Czech virtuoso and an enfant terrible of the postwar generation of interpreters, one of the most original representatives of the Czech violin school. His recording of the Paganini caprices, made between 1956 - 1958, was reissued on CD by Supraphon.

Yes sir!.His version is not a lesson on super-virtuosity
"a la Ricci", but of fine musicality and good taste.
