    In photography, the photographer often has a huge white circle made of some sort of fabric not in shot, next the camera, and pointed at the photographer's subject. What is this thing called and what is it for?

    		I'm assuming you mean a 'bounce board' or 'bounce umbrella' used to reflect light in flash photography.
