What is the main function of chromosome 5 in humans?

As far as we can tell there is not a main theme of function of any of the chromosomes. They are more like a library of books without the dewy decimal system. Chromosome 5 is one of the bigger chromosomes but has a smaller gene density than most of the others. According to Wikipedia (not an athoratative sourse but a start) much of chromosome 5 are invertibrate genes.
A couple of important genes on 5 deal with survival motor nuron genes and growth factor genes.
Some interesting diseases that can be influenced by chrom5 are Parkinsons and nicotine dependance.
