    Well, well.... I always thought it was a steam railroad engine (railroad rather than railway because it's American, see...). http://www.ironhorsepreservation.org/ However, with the use of 'euphemism' rather than 'nickname' you could be right.

    Fascinating list.... But incomplete. When you listen to old blues and real R & B (not the rhubarb that's pinched the name) you'll find lots more....

    This might be far out, but in Norway we have this "mini tractor" used by lumberjacks. It is called "jernhest", which means "iron horse".
