    November 11, 1945 -- Recording of a special Armistice Day program of "The Quiz Kids" during which G. T. Seaborg first announced the discovery of elements 95 (Americium) and 96 (Curium). The children, ages 5-15, interviewed Seaborg instead of the usual program in which they would be asked questions.

    Yay, Zbeck! Americium has since become the only man-made element to frequently make it into people's homes thanks to its use in smoke detectors.
