February 15, 2008 -- Vice-Admiral Drew Robertson said Friday he expects HMCS Victoria, HMCS Cornerbrook and HMCS Windsor to be in service "over the coming year, year and a half... sailing simultaneously."

There was a fire aboard HMCS Chicoutimi in October 2004 as it sailed from Britain to Canada. Lt. Chris Saunders of Halifax died as a result of the blaze.

Robertson indicated the vessel still won't be repaired for another two years.

I have a question between HD Ready and HDTV, originally I was thinkg the image quality of a HD Ready will be equal to HDTV after a HD turner/receiver was installed. However, my local cable tv provider (Charter) told me that HD Ready boots at max 60% of the quality as the HDTV and an HDTV and HD Ready are ready to go with the cable provider's HD receiver. Is that true?

I vaguely recall hearing that CD's and audio-cassettes are not as permanent media for storing music as was once thought. Is this true and if so, what process causes this, how many years do they take to become unplayable and can I slow this process down?
